The day is upon us. Saturday the iPad, Apple’s new multimedia tablet, becomes available to all. Pre-orders have been pretty high, and the general consensus is that the stuff it does well is fantastic, but it’s limitations are significant. I don’t know, I haven’t had a chance to use the device yet. I doubt I’ll get many yes’s in this poll, but I figure why not? Is anyone out there even considering to pick up an iPad? Waiting until generation 2? Would they take it as a gift?
Be on the look out for my hands on report once my local Apple store stops being a mob scene for the device, I hope that my time with the device may alleviate some fears about its functionality. Also, get excited because my long work-in-progress mock ups are close to done for my alternative to the iPad’s current OS. Yes, I have built my design for OSX Touch!
I was taking a stroll through the site the other day and noticed that the “Games” section is looking rather, well, anemic. And it occurs to me that I should be giving that section of the site a bit of love. So I want to branch out more into gaming with the blog, and maybe start getting into the nitty gritty of it all. You know, defend a console against haters, maybe juggle the age old question of whether video games are art, the classics. But I don’t want to just shoot off random stuff, hoping to catch your attention. I like to tailor the site to the readers if I can. So, in order to get to know you all better without going on a date, I’d like to take a quick poll. What console do you guys have? Are you Nintendo people? Microsoft loyalists? Sony users? I’ll even take something more obscure like Dreamcast or classic gamer, multiples of consoles (indicate in the comments), or even PC gamers. How do the demographics break down?
This is a relatively straight forward post, but I’m interested in seeing how the demographics of my readers break down. This may also help me to orient news more towards my base in the future. So what kind of computer do you use? Mac? Windows? Are you a crazy Linux user or something even more obscure? You never know, I once met a guy who used OpenBSD exclusively.
